Birds at dusk

Walls are an important part of every room. They add character to the room and nothing works better than a wall-art which provides the necessary warmth and coziness to the room.  Let's learn how to transform an empty wall into that beautiful piece of art!

Things you'll need :

1. A3 size White Chart Paper

3. Glue

4. A pair of scissors

5. Printable bird silhouettes

6. A piece of thick black string

7. Double-sided tape

8. Printer

9. Two nails, Hammer or Drilling Machine

10. One string of Fairy lights (optional)

Step 1: Paste the black velvet paper on the white chart paper carefully with no air gaps in between. Leave it overnight to dry completely.

Step 2: Print all the silhouettes on white paper and cut out the images of the birds neatly and carefully. You can also draw the birds of your choice and make cutouts out of them.

Step 3: Place the cutouts of birds over the glued velvet and chart paper and cut pieces of birds according to your requirement.

Step 4: Once all the velvet birds are ready, check if there are any air gaps left in the pieces. If so, use glue to stick the velvet and the chart paper together ensuring the cutouts are firm.

Step 5: Measure across the length of the wall and put two marks on the wall for two ends across a straight line.  Fix nails on both the marks.

Step 6: Tie the string to both nails. The string should be a little loose but not too loose to give a realistic view.

Step 7: Cut small pieces of double-sided tape and affix each piece to the backside of the cutout bird pieces.

Step 8: Having affixed all the tape pieces to the bird pieces, stick the bird pieces on the wall over the string. You can place the birds according to your requirement and choice of design arrangement.

Step 9 (Optional): Fix the string of Fairy lights below the string of birds with one end plugged into a socket and the other tied to one of the nails.

Voila! Your wall-art is ready!

Do try and let me know your views.
